‘Thailand and Creative ASEAN’ aimed at creating jobs, generating income, and improving people’s quality of life

BANGKOK, Thailand – H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave opening remarks at the Seminar on “Thailand and Creative ASEAN” on 16 September. The event was organised by the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Interior, and Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency (CEA).

The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the potential of Thailand and ASEAN in creative economy, especially in creating jobs, generating income, and improving people’s quality of life. In addition, the event featured discussions on how to advance creative economy, promote and protect intellectual property rights, capacity building, as well as exchanges of technology in ASEAN. These topics were discussed by both Thai and international panelists, such as Indonesia, China, Korea, the United States, the ASEAN Secretariat, UNESCO, WIPO, PDM BRAND, and VINN PATARARIN. There was also an exhibition showcasing creative products from Thai brands, OTOP products, and POP MART. (MFA)
