Thailand best country to start up business: U.S. News & World Report

Thailand was named the best country to start up a business by a U.S. news agency for a second consecutive year.

Commerce Minister Sonthirat Sonthijirawong revealed the U.S. News & World Report has listed Thailand as the best country to start a business for 2018, which is the second consecutive year which this country has topped the survey.

The list, published on usnews.com website, was compiled from a survey made with some 21,000 samples across the globe. Thailand is positioned as number one among the other 80 countries on the list. The country is also listed as the 8th best country for investment among 25 countries worldwide.

He said the results from this survey show the perception in the international community that Thailand has adjusted its regulations to provide an investment friendly atmosphere according to the government’s Thailand 4.0 goal.

Thailand’s ranking on the World Bank’s 2018 Ease of Doing Business list also improved by 20 positions, moving the country from being the 46th on the list in 2017 to the 26th this year.
