Thailand scored 35 points, ranked 108 out of 180 countries, and ranked 4th among ASEAN countries. The top performer was Singapore, which was ranked 5th globally with 83 points.

In 2023, Thailand’s CPI assessment was based on information from nine sources. Thailand scored more points from PERC, from 35 to 37 compared to last year. Three sources contribute to the decline: BF (TI) falls from 37 to 33 points, WJP falls from 34 to 33 points, and WEF falls from 45 to 36 points. There are five sources with the same score: EIU, GI, IMD, PRS and V-DEM.

The CPI index reflects the corruption perceptions of countries around the world. This information is used by investors and business sectors for risk assessment or investment before deciding to invest in any country. The CPI was conducted by Transparency International (TI), which headquarter is located in Berlin, Germany. It was established in 1993 as a public international organization with the objective of fighting against corruption. (NNT)
