
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) participated in the Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence (SAIA) held in Paris, reaffirming its dedication to ethical AI governance, sustainability, and global digital inclusion.
Representing Thailand at the summit were Professor Wisit Wisitsora-at, Permanent Secretary of MDES, and Thai Ambassador to Paris, Saran Charoensuwan. The event brought together global leaders, including the U.S. Vice President and the President of the European Commission, alongside representatives from international organizations, academia, the private sector, and civil society.
The summit aimed to promote responsible AI governance and drive sustainable, inclusive digital transformation. A key achievement was the adoption of the “Statement on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence for People and the Planet,” emphasizing the importance of reducing digital inequality, protecting human rights, and ensuring AI’s transparency, fairness, and trustworthiness. The statement also called for strengthened global collaboration in AI governance, with a focus on inclusivity across all sectors.
