Foreign Minister Surapong Tovijakchaikul will present the financial aid to a Philippine diplomat in Bangkok early next week.
Floods from tropical storm Saola have submerged vast areas in mainly rice-growing provinces and the Philippine government has declared eight provinces in the central area “disaster zones.”
More than 2.4 million people are homeless and 360,000 are crammed into temporary shelters provided by the government. The Philippine Ministry of Social Welfare and Development has asked for relief goods including food, drugs and clothes.
There has been no report of Thai residents affected by the flooding, recorded as the worst since 2009.
