Thailand hosts Asia-Pacific Directors General of Civil Aviation Conference

BANGKOK, 2 July 2013 Thailand has been honored to play host to the 50th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Regions, with 38 countries and 10 aviation organizations around the world participating in the event. 

After presiding over the opening ceremony, Thailand’s Civil Aviation Department Director General Woradet Hanprasert said the conference was aimed at uplifting the aviation systems of member countries.

The conference focused on the issues of innovation, increased safety, enhanced security, and sustainability of Asia and Pacific aviation.

The conference also provided an opportunity for members to promote regional cooperation and exchange information on guidelines and regulations regarding the matter, as well as harmonization of laws in the region.

The director concluded that Thailand, during the meeting, was able to showcase the country’s civil aviation leadership in the region as well as strengthening cooperation with the Department of Aviation of countries in the Asia and Pacific regions and key aviation agencies from around the world.
