The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has intensified its efforts to attract French tourists in conjunction with the Paris 2024 Olympics, which began on Friday. TAT’s collaboration with Carrefour Voyages, starting in May, has facilitated the launch of promotional campaigns across 115 French travel agencies. The campaign seeks to boost Thai tourism through both online and offline channels, with a goal to sell 2,000 travel packages by August.
TAT plans to sustain its marketing momentum in the second half of the year through partnerships with Voyage Privé, Oovatu, Singapore Airlines, and the Singapore Tourism Board. The strategy is expected to draw 632,000 French tourists to Thailand this year, generating at least 42.9 billion baht in tourism revenue.
Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, TAT’s deputy governor for Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa, said the agency anticipates that this market will exceed pre-pandemic levels in tourist numbers and revenue. She added that the Paris Olympics are considered a critical opportunity to encourage French tourists to visit Thailand both before and after the Games. (NNT)
