Thailand is celebrating His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024, with the launch of the “10 Beautiful Canals, Clear Water, Happy Thai People” project. The campaign, driven by His Majesty’s commitment to environmental preservation and societal well-being, focuses on developing and rehabilitating rivers and canals nationwide.

The project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with other governmental bodies, seeks to enhance the quality of life for the Thai people by improving deteriorated water sources. This will involve cleaning and beautifying canals, enhancing them as viable residential areas, transportation routes, and measures to prevent flooding.

The initiative will start with pilot areas in 9 provinces and Bangkok, with plans to eventually expand to all 76 provinces in Thailand. The comprehensive effort reflects His Majesty’s royal policy to create a livable, strong, and safe society and is in line with the King’s first royal address, where he pledged to perform his duties for the people’s happiness.

The government’s communication strategy focuses on raising awareness about the monarchy’s benevolence and publicizing the activities connected to the “10 Beautiful Canals, Clear Water, Happy Thai People” project, encouraging nationwide participation and appreciation. (NNT)
