Wing Yip, which imports more than 1,000 products from Thailand annually, is a major supplier of Asian ingredients in the UK, with a turnover exceeding 4.5 billion baht. High-demand Thai products include frozen foods, beverages, seasonings, canned goods, and jasmine rice. The ministry sees potential for further growth, especially for products with inventive packaging and sustainable qualities.

To strengthen this collaboration, the Commerce Ministry plans to work closely with UK importers, ensuring Thai goods meet their needs, and will organize both online and on-site activities to promote Thai products. New Thai manufacturers will also be introduced to expand the range of goods available to UK consumers.

Minister Pichai recently took part in the launching ceremony of the “Think Thailand Next Level” branding campaign in London’s Piccadilly Circus and on city buses to further promote Thai products in the UK market. Thailand currently exports goods worth 140 billion baht to the UK, with food products accounting for 20%. The partnership is expected to further enhance trade relations following the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on a Closer Trade Partnership between Thailand and the UK. (NNT)
