BANGKOK, 13 May 2015 – The Education Ministers of ASEAN countries have agreed on Thailand as the host of an upcoming forum on vocational education management, to be held September.
The resolution was made by Ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, Timor-Leste, Singapore and Laos during the 48th Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Council Conference (SEAMEC). They were of the opinion that Thailand should be the center of vocational education management of ASEAN.
A discussion between ASEAN Education Ministers and the SEAMEO Secretariat Director also concluded that ASEAN members should hold a forum for high-level administrators to exchange their ideas and experiences on the management of vocational education in their individual countries.
Thailand has been chosen as the host of the forum which is also likely to take place in September. The meeting is expected to enable ASEAN members to come up with strategic plans to meet the demands of each country and strengthen the region’s vocational education and skills.
