Out of 145 top tourist destinations for Muslims, Thailand was placed 32nd among popular attractions for Muslim travelers and 5th among non-OIC nations in the Mastercard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2024. This rating is the same as it was in 2023.

With the intention of making Thailand a center for all dimensions of halal, the Thai government has always encouraged the wide development of the halal economy, encompassing cuisine, travel, fashion, and soft power.
