Thailand ranks third in ASEAN’s digital trade utilization

Thailand is placing emphasis on digital technology and innovation to implement the IGNITE THAILAND policy, aiming to make Thailand a digital economy hub.

Asia Global Institute, ICC Digital Standards Initiative, and Milken Institute published the Global Trade Modernization Index 2024. It collects and analyzes data regarding readiness for digital trade of 65 economies around the world and ranks Thailand third in ASEAN and 32nd in the world.



The index focuses on five major indicators related to digital trade development: (1) paperless trade, (2) trade openness, (3) regulatory environment, (4) business readiness, and (5) human capital. These factors help improve industrial efficiency, increase revenue streams, and reduce business costs.
