A Telenor Asia study has highlighted Thailand as the second-most connected country in Southeast Asia, with 86% of its residents spending significant daily time on mobile devices. Thais are utilizing mobile technology for financial management, with 93% using their phones for banking and investments.

The study, surveying over 8,000 people across the region, indicates a rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Thai workplaces, with expectations of increased use of generative AI and a need for more employer-provided training in this area.



While Thai businesses are keen on technological advancements, the study noted that individual concerns about mobile privacy and security are lower in Thailand compared to regional averages. However, there is still considerable concern regarding the online safety of vulnerable groups like the elderly and children.

Social media usage remains high, with Facebook being the most popular platform, and an emerging trend of younger Thais turning to TikTok for news. (NNT)
