BANGKOK, 10 June 2015 – The 12th Thailand Paper-folded Airplane Competition has started to select a winner to participate in the 7th Japan Paper-folded Airplane Competition organized in Hiroshima by Japan Origami Airplane Association (JOAA). The selection begins in various parts of Thailand to expand opportunities for all youths to take part.

The competition, organized by Thailand’s National Museum, aims at boosting invention skill and creativity in youth. The participants are divided into two groups which are those under 12 years old and a no-age-limit group. The first group requires 9 seconds of flying to win the title while the other group requires a flying time of at least 11 seconds.

This year, regional contests are also being organized to encourage all youths nationwide to participate in the qualification rounds, launched together with the NSM’s Science Parade throughout the country with on-site workshop on paper plane basic folding techniques for first-time participants.

The final round will take place in November this year at the National Science and Technology Fair held at Impact Arena Hall, Muang THong Thani to select the winner to join the Competition in Japan.
