Thailand showcases tourism vision at ‘ITB Berlin 2024’ in Germany

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin stated that Thailand aims to generate over 9 billion euros in tourism revenue this year, with an estimated 8.5 million tourists from Europe expected to contribute more than 17 billion euros.

At ‘The Amazing Thailand Networking Event’ held in Germany, Thailand presented its vision and policies to drive the country’s tourism industry and connect regional tourism. The event is part of the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin 2024 (ITB Berlin 2024), the world’s largest tourism trade fair.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin stated that Thailand aims to generate over 9 billion euros in tourism revenue this year, with an estimated 8.5 million tourists from Europe expected to contribute more than 17 billion euros.



He mentioned that his government has planned key measures to enhance and propel the Thai tourism industry, such as facilitating travel, promoting tourism in secondary cities to distribute income and tourists across various provinces, and improving regulations for entertainment venues, along with leveraging Thailand’s “Soft Power” to attract tourists.

Furthermore, the Thai Prime Minister said the government plans to improve tourism infrastructure, including airport construction and expansion, and increasing flight frequencies to accommodate more tourists. The event “Air-mazing Thailand: The Amazing Airlines Fam Trip” was organized to showcase the potential of Thailand’s aviation sector.



The government’s presentation of its vision and policies at ITB Berlin 2024 demonstrates Thailand’s commitment to becoming a major global tourism hub. Initiatives and measures are in place to not only enhance and promote tourism within Thailand but also at the regional level. (NNT)
