The Finance Ministry expects to launch the fourth phase of the half-half co-payment scheme in March, according to Pornchai Theerawet, spokesman for the Finance Ministry.
The spokesman said the cabinet already approved the fourth phase of the cost-of-living subsidy program after the last day of its third phase last on Dec 31.
He said the subsidy would be the same as its previous phase, 1,500 baht per recipient per month. Registration for participants of the fourth phase should be invited before its implementation.
Recipients in the third phase will have to confirm their participation in the fourth phase via the Pao Tang app as they had done before. New recipients would have to register for their participation, Mr Pornchai said.
The half-half co-payment scheme was aimed at stimulating the economy. The government subsidized 50% of receipts for participants’ purchases at small shops and the subsidy was capped at 150 baht per day. (TNA)
