Thailand to host ‘Asia International Hemp Expo 2023’ at QSNCC Bangkok Nov 22-25

The expo will feature products and innovations from the medical industry, food and beverage industry, nutritional supplement industry, cosmetics and cosmeceutical industry, automotive industry, construction industry, and pet industry and will also showcase the country’s capability in hemp and cannabis production.

Thailand will be hosting Asia International Hemp Expo 2023 in November, showcasing products from cannabis and hemp-related industries, following the legalization of these plants.

Asia International Hemp Expo 2023 will be taking place in Bangkok on 22-25 November at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It will feature products and innovations from the medical industry, food and beverage industry, nutritional supplement industry, cosmetics and cosmeceutical industry, automotive industry, construction industry, and pet industry. It will also showcase the country’s capability in hemp and cannabis production.



There will be seminars with panels of experts from 12 countries covering all aspects of cannabis and hemp, along with trade negotiating sessions between Thai businesses and foreign investors.

This expo is expected to attract some 10,000 participants from around the world, generating some 8 billion baht in cash flow.

Mr. Pornchai Padmindra, President of the Thai Industrial Hemp Trade Association, said businesses and industries related to hemp and cannabis have seen continuous growth, with the number of registered cannabis and hemp cultivators now standing at 1.1 million.



According to the Food and Drug Administration, there are around 1,000 registered products related to hemp and cannabis, 77% of which are in the cosmetics industry, followed by food and nutritional supplements at 19%, and herbal products at 4%.

The market value for hemp and cannabis in Thailand was recorded at 8.48 billion baht last year. This value is projected to reach 73 billion baht by 2027. (NNT)
