BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand has emerged as the top destination for international tourists this December, according to data from SiteMinder, a global hotel revenue management platform. International room bookings have risen to 87%, up from 84% during the same period last year, showcasing the country’s strong appeal to global travelers.
Key metrics indicate strong growth in Thailand’s hospitality sector. The average daily rate for hotel rooms increased by 16%, rising from 7,149 baht to 8,313 baht, exceeding the global average. The average length of stay grew by 5% to 2.76 days, while the booking lead time expanded from 85 days to 93 days, a 10% increase.
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket remain the most popular destinations, drawing international visitors with their unique cultural attractions and warm hospitality. These cities have become preferred spots for holiday celebrations, driving tourism revenue and benefiting the local hospitality industry.
