BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that Phase 3 of Thailand’s 10,000-baht digital wallet program will be distributed between April and June. This phase will provide financial support to 16 million eligible individuals aged 16 to 59 who registered via the Tang Rath application on September 15, 2024.
Unlike previous phases, recipients will not receive cash. Instead, funds will be disbursed exclusively in digital form through an official application. Transactions will be restricted to spending within the recipient’s registered district of residence.
The government aims to ensure that the program stimulates local economies while promoting the use of digital financial platforms. As the country shifts toward a cashless system, this initiative reflects Thailand’s growing commitment to modernized financial transactions and targeted economic support. (NNT)
