Thailand’s beach destinations are popular among travelers around the world for their translucent seas, white-sand beaches, and pristine islands, as well as sports and activities. However, when planning a beach holiday in Thailand, it is important to note that different sides of the peninsula have different weather.
In the month of May, weather in the Gulf of Thailand is often nice and sunny, while the Andaman Sea is impacted by the wet season. Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation has recommended several marine national parks that are good for visiting in May:
– Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, located on the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province;
– Khao Laem Ya – Mu Koh Samet National Park, Rayong;
– Mu Koh Chang National Park, Trat;
– Mu Koh Ang Thong National Park, Surat Thani;
– Mu Koh Chumphon National Park, Chumphon;
– Hat Khanom – Mu Koh Thale Tai National Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The weather can sometimes be unpredictable, however, so it is important to check the weather forecast prior to your visit, and pay attention to any warning flags on the beaches. (PRD)
