BANGKOK, Nov 28  – Thailand’s Motor Expo 2019 will kick off on Friday (Nov 29) with 60 manufacturers showcasing their newest models amid slow domestic auto market.

At the Press Day event on Thursday, Chalatchai Papaspong, a member of the 36th Motor Expo organizing committee, said he expected at least 50,000 vehicles and 9,000 motorcycles sold during the 12-day Expo.

Thirty four car brands and 26 motorcycle brands from nine countries would be represented at the Expo, he said.

Despite the sluggish economy, the organizing committee was confident that the Expo would attract 1.6 million visitors and generate THB56 billion, Chalatchai said.

The International Motor Expo opens on Friday and runs until December 10 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, just outside Bangkok.
