Thais say communication technology will move country forward

BANGKOK, 22 September 2013 Majority of Thais said communication technology and online media are the factors that will drive this country forward. 

Dusit Poll conducted a survey on more than 1,300 people across Thailand during September 16-20. It has found that 43.23 percent of the surveyed people said the factors that would help develop this country were communication technology and online media as these two factors could move Thailand forward, while 30.40 percent said education needed immediate attention as this sector has been slow and behind other countries.

When asked about the country’s overall development, more than 94 percent of the respondents said the country was developing in a slow pace, because politicians only think about themselves, not the country’s benefit, adding that people nowadays are forced to be more selfish than the past.

When asked about the thing that is holding this country back, 44.66 percent of the surveyed people said corruption was the number 1 problem, while 29.55% suggested government should have stricter measures and severe punishments for the wrongdoers.
