The upcoming National Mother’s Day on August 12 will see Thai people spending more calling on restaurants with their moms for family reunions.
According to the survey of the Kasikorn Research Centre only in Bangkok, people are expected to spend 2.8 billion baht during the National Mother’s Day, up 3.7% from last year’s spending on this special occasion.
It said the three-day holiday period of this year’s Mother’s Day from August 12 to 14 will stimulate expenditures on activities such as dining out, travelling with moms and buying gifts for moms which are the most popular activities.
With all the money up for grabs during the period, business operators now are ready to launch promotion campaign to spur the spending, to persuade sons and daughters to buy gifts to mothers.
