On the night of January 13, police received a call from a distressed lady informing them of a robbery in a parking lot behind the Siam Commercial Bank, Wong Amatya Branch in Naklua Soi 18.
On arrival they were met by Chutinun Pudet, a trainee at the bank, standing next to her Honda car with a smashed window.
Chutinun told police that she had parked her car at the parking lot that morning as usual when she came to work. On finishing he work at around 8.30 pm she noticed that the window of her car had been smashed and her valuables stolen.
She said that the thieves stole her computer notebook, a gold necklace, 3500 baht in cash along with other possessions. She said that the total loss was about 50,000 baht.
Police said that usually private parking lots do not employ security guards and that the criminals were well aware of that.
Residents in the area said that many such robberies occur in the area. Police warned motorists to be very careful where they park their cars and not to leave their valuables lying clearly visible in the vehicle. “It would be somewhat safer to keep your valuables hidden away in the trunk of your car.”
