BANGKOK, 10 March 2012  – The Meteorological Department has forecast a high pressure area from South China to cover Northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea.

The effect of the high pressure area is likely to bring about hot weather in the upper part of the country, which would lead to thunderstorms in the North, Northeast, East and the central region including Bangkok between March 9 and 11. Hailstorms are also likely in some areas.

Meanwhile, an easterly wave has reached the South and the Gulf of Thailand. Heavy rains are expected in some areas during these few days.
