Today’s high-tech toys are creating a gap between children and their parents and no amount of money will close it, a Rajaphat Suandusit University Pattaya Center professor told teachers and students at a South Pattaya temple Saturday.
In a lecture entitled “If You Could Choose a Better Way for Your Children, Would You?” Pongsak Tangkana told the 100 university instructors and kids from Pattaya School No. 8 that parents who leave their kids alone while working are finding their lifestyles differ greatly from their kids, due to the influence of technology.
Too many parents, Pongsak said, try to close that gap by giving their children larger allowances. But kids with too many toys and too much money get into trouble with drugs and other things, he said.
The seminar was aimed at creating better understanding between kids and their parents.
