Tourist arrivals to Thailand will exceed its target by year end

According to TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn, the influx of tourists from Europe and the United States in the final days of this year would bring overall arrivals to 11.5 million, beating the government’s target of 10 million visitors.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) forecasts that tourist arrivals to Thailand will exceed its 2022 target by 15% by the end of 2022.

According to TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn, the influx of tourists from Europe and the United States in the final days of this year would bring overall arrivals to 11.5 million, beating the government’s target of 10 million visitors. Officials have already reported 10.9 million foreign arrivals as of December 20.



The TAT governor also said revenue from the tourism sector, including domestic travel, will reach 1.5 trillion baht for this year. The TAT estimates that overall revenue will reach 2.38 trillion baht in 2023, with international visitors accounting for around 1.5 trillion. The TAT also maintained its target of welcoming 20 million international visitors in 2023. (NNT)
