BANGKOK, Thailand –– The traffic conditions on the Asia Highway in the morning (April 15), after the long Songkran break, are still relatively light, allowing vehicles to travel at speeds of 100-120 km/h.
A reporter covering the traffic near the elevated bridge at kilometers 17-18 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, heading towards Bangkok, noted that although some people have already started returning to the capital, the road remains fairly clear.
Some drivers are diverting from the main route to avoid congestion at the Bang Pa-In interchange, opting for alternative routes via the Rojana Road heading towards Wang Noi district.
On Phaholyothin Road, cars are also gradually heading back to Bangkok, but traffic remains fluid, with speeds also reaching 100-120 km/h.
However, authorities are reminding travelers to be cautious and well-rested, as the leftmost lanes may be blocked by parked vehicles or drivers stopping to pick up passengers, particularly near intersections and gas stations. Drivers should adhere to speed limits and traffic laws to ensure a safe return to work after the holiday. (TNA)
