MAE HONG SON, Thailand – On September 6, Mrs. Cloe Ferari, a Belgian tourist, was reported missing after embarking on a solo cycling trip in Pai, Mae Hong Son. She had planned to visit the Mae Yen Waterfall, a popular natural attraction in the area. After leaving her bicycle at a trail leading to the waterfall, Mrs. Ferari went missing. She did not take any personal belongings with her, such as a bag or shoes, when she set off towards the waterfall.
The search for Mrs. Ferari began shortly after she was reported missing. Local authorities, including the district chief, police, military personnel, and volunteers from the Pai Enduro Club, conducted extensive search operations through the night. Despite their efforts, no significant leads or traces were found. Heavy rain in the evening had increased water levels in the Mae Yen Waterfall, complicating the search efforts as the area became dangerous and impassable.
On September 7, the search was resumed with intensified efforts. By 12:30 PM, search teams discovered Mrs. Ferari’s body at the base of a dam near the Mae Yen Waterfall. The discovery was made after a systematic search involving multiple teams and a thorough examination of potential areas where she might have been.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding Mrs. Ferari’s death. They are in the process of collecting evidence and analyzing the situation to determine the cause of death. Initial reports suggest that the increased water flow due to recent rain could have contributed to the tragic outcome, but further investigation is needed to confirm this.
