TRANG, 2 May 2015 – Administrative personnel and conservationists in Trang province have jointly surveyed coral reefs on Koh Mook in Kantang as part of a sea revival program.
The survey is intended to locate damaged coral reefs around the island. Conservationists will later place decommissioned rail carriages in affected areas of the sea in order for marine life to reproduce in protected spaces.
The project is a collaborative effort by many organizations such as the provincial administrative body, the Hat Chao Mai National Park, the Hydrographic Department, the Trang provincial marine office and the State Railway of Thailand.
Local people will also be encouraged to take part in the program to enhance their awareness of the importance of the environment.
