TRANG, Thailand – The 2025 Trang Underwater Wedding Festival will take place from February 13 to 15, celebrating love with two distinct ceremonies in Thailand’s Andaman Sea. Now in its 28th year, the festival has gained international recognition and is expected to attract local and foreign visitors. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Pirapan Salirathavibhaga has been scheduled to preside over the event’s opening ceremony.
The festival will feature two wedding ceremonies, including an underwater marriage registration at Hin Kon Diaw in front of the Emerald Cave and a beachside ceremony on Koh Kradan, recently ranked as the World’s Best Beach. In addition to the weddings, the event will include an LGBTQ+ Pride Parade, OTOP exhibitions, and special discounts on local accommodation and dining. Trang residents have been encouraged to wear pink throughout the festival to contribute to the celebratory atmosphere.
For the first time, LGBTQ+ couples will officially participate in the wedding ceremony, reflecting Trang’s commitment to inclusivity and marriage equality. The festival also showcases the region’s natural beauty, with its renowned dive sites and pristine beaches providing a scenic setting for the celebrations. The gathering is expected to generate economic benefits for local businesses and boost the province’s appeal to international travelers.
