BANGKOK, 30 April 2015 – The Transport Company is facilitating people’s commute during the long weekend between the 1st and the 5th of May by deploying 300 extra buses per day.
Vice President of the Transport Company Nopparat Karoonyavanich projected that, during the five-day holiday period from Labor Day to Coronation Day, there will be over 400,000 people traveling out of Bangkok, either for a family visit or for traveling. To accommodate the massive departures expected to continue through May 2, he said the company has increased the number of bus trips on outbound routes from the usual 6,000 to 6,300. With the extra services, the company will be able to accommodate up to 140,000 passengers each day.
The same measure will be implemented on inbound services when the vacationers begin to return to the capital on May 4. Mr Nopparat thus assured that all passengers will receive the utmost convenience and no one will be left stranded.
For passengers who need to catch a ride from the Mo Chit Bus Terminal, the Vice President of the Transport Company advised them to arrive at least two hours prior to departure time due to the heavy traffic in front of the terminal caused by the construction of an electric train system.
