Transport company fined 70,000 Baht and suspended for 7 days after passenger kicked off bus for sitting on the stairs. A reminder for safety and proper service on all bus routes.

BANGKOK, Thailand – A Facebook user named “Soldier of Muscles” (Tahansaiklam) posted a video revealing an unpleasant experience on a bus ride. The user had purchased a bus ticket for travel from Saraburi to Nakhon Ratchasima at 8:30 PM on February 17. However, when it was time to board, a motorcycle took him to a different bus located outside the station. After boarding the bus, he was forced to sit on the second step of the stairs, a spot that was uncomfortable and unsafe. When he asked the staff about this, he was met with impolite responses and was subsequently kicked off the bus.

This incident caused considerable dissatisfaction, prompting the user to record a video and take photos as evidence, which he shared on social media to warn other passengers. The man called for the transport company and the Department of Land Transport to investigate and take action against the staff involved. He also urged passengers to thoroughly check their travel information to ensure their safety and comfort.

On February 18, the Transport Company (BorKorSor) issued a statement confirming they had investigated the incident. The bus involved was found to be part of the service provided by the Federation Roi Et Tour Company, route number 927-7, operating between Bangkok and Mukdahan. The company’s actions were found to violate the company’s regulations (K.1/2568, Clause 4) for not delivering the passenger to their destination. As a result, the bus company was fined 70,000 Baht, with a 20,000 Baht fine for the staff member and a 50,000 Baht fine for the company owner. Additionally, the vehicle’s use was suspended for 7 days.

BorKorSor has reminded the bus operators to strictly adhere to laws and company regulations. The transport company warned that any further exploitation of passengers would lead to more severe penalties, including potential contract termination.

Passengers who encounter issues during their travel are encouraged to immediately report them to the Transport Company’s customer service at 02-936-2834 during working hours (08:30 AM – 4:30 PM) or the Department of Land Transport at 1584. BorKorSor also expressed apologies for the incident.
