Buri Ram – Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob, has visited Buri Ram province and is following up on the Highway 226 project to improve road surfaces and install a lighting system in preparation for the Buri Ram Marathon 2020.

The Highway Department’s Office 10 reported progress in the project to the Transport Minister, specifically measures to solve traffic congestion due to the construction of the Bang Pa-in – Saraburi – Nakhon Ratchasima special highway in the area of Khlong Phai prison. All repaired roads will be fully open to normal traffic by the end of this month.

The Rural Roads Department also outlined progress in the trial use of rubber-coated barriers, expected to be finished by the middle of next month. Then, rubber-coated barriers will be put into trial-use in a foreign country, for further testing.

The Transport Minister also inspected the Highway 226 project at the Rakar intersection in Krasang district of Buri Ram which is designed to solve traffic congestion, provide safety for motorists, reduce the number of road accidents, save on traveling costs and accommodate the economic, logistical and tourism development of the northeastern region.

The Transport Minister also studied progress in the project to improve road surfaces and install a lighting system within a 19 million baht budget. It is designed to illuminate the Buri Ram Marathon 2020 scheduled on February 8 and February 9.
