‘Travel-index’, a content-driven ecosystem for the travel and tourism sector, has rolled out its annual list of 25 Restaurants throughout Bangkok that it considers the top eateries highlighting why the capital is such a popular gastronomic destination among gourmets and gourmands.
Travelindex had annually listed and awarded the best restaurants since 2018 based on its own patented ‘Restaurant Rating Index’.
In addition to Bangkok, Travelindex also publishes the most outstanding restaurants guide in destinations such as Phuket, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Delhi.
The event was presided over by Boonserm Khunkaew, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Tourism, at the Sukhothai Hotel. He expressed his hope that the TOP25 Restaurants award would promote the restaurant’s reputation and draw in more customers. The restaurants listed – both winners and nominees – are expected to provide an unforgettable dining experience to all visitors.
Among the 96 Bangkok restaurants that were nominated, only 25 were selected. Sorn, a fine Southern Thai cuisine restaurant, won the city’s top position for fine dining by chef Supaksorn ‘Ice’ Jongsiri. The eatery offers local seafood enhanced with local ingredients and spices.
The second-placed restaurants, Chef’s Table and Mezzaluna, are both located at Lebua Hotels – the first luxury vertical destination in the world. The third spot went to the internationally recognized French fine dining restaurant Savelberg.
The ceremony was hosted at La Scala, an Italian Fine Dining restaurant in Sukhothai Hotel. La Scala offers authentic Italian cuisine served in an elegant European style. The eatery also ranks 21st in TOP25 Restaurants Bangkok 2023. (NNT)
