BANGKOK, 20 Dec 2014, Two special committees will be set up to compile data on the improvement of the government’s performance in relation to its efforts in eradicating human trafficking problems, which will be reported to the U.S. next month, says Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan.
According to the General, one of the two committees will be in charge of the report on domestic and international human trafficking activities, and the other will handle the report on the country’s efforts in eradicating beggars. Both committees will send the compiled data to the supervising unit during a meeting on December 9th, before producing the final report for the U.S.
Earlier this year, the U.S. downgraded Thailand to Tier 3, the lowest rank for human trafficking eradicating efforts.
The report will be sent to the U.S. before January 30th.
