Police apprehend two Indian men on Koh Phangan after a German tourist reports being assaulted near a beach during her visit.

SAMUI, Thailand – Thai police have arrested two Indian men on suspicion of assaulting a German female tourist on the island of Koh Phangan last week, with one suspect admitting to the charges and the other partially denying the allegations.

Police stated that the two men, identified as Mr. Vijay Dadasaheb, 47, and Mr. Rahul Balasaheb, 40, were apprehended after a 24-year-old woman reported that she had been assaulted on rocks near a beach on Friday (March 14).

Through the interrogation of multiple witnesses and evidence from CCTV footage, the police gathered sufficient solid evidence to obtain arrest warrants from the court.



According to police, Mr. Vijay confessed to all charges, while Mr. Rahul admitted to hugging and kissing the woman but denied the assault allegation.

The German woman, identified only as Anna, is scheduled to return to her country in two weeks. Police said they are taking steps to expedite the legal process.

The incident occurred on Koh Phangan, a popular tourist destination, particularly known for its Full Moon Party events. (TNA)
