Typhoon ‘Ewiniar’ on East of Taiwan has no effects on Thailand’s weather

The typhoon “Ewiniar” the east of Taiwan, China is expected to move to the east of Japan during 30–31 May.

The moderated southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Meanwhile the low-pressure cell covers upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin with thundershowers over the country. The wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are moderated. The waves are 1-2 meters high, 1–2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers areas. In addition the typhoon “Ewiniar” the east of Taiwan, China is expected to move to the east of Japan during 30–31 May. There is no direct effect from these storms to Thailand’s weather.

During 30 May – 4 Jun, the southwest monsoon prevailing across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen while the low-pressure cell over the Gulf of Tonkin and the central of South China Sea. More rain and isolated heavy rain are likely in the country with very heavy rains in some places of the Northeast, the East and the South (west coast). The waves are 1 – 2 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and above 2 meters high in thundershowers while about 1 meter high in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Caution
People should beware of heavy rains to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All transport takes more caution when traveling through the thundershowers areas. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
