UBON RATCHATHANI – Ubon Ratchathani Police rescued 44 Laotian sex workers in Khong Chiam District during a recent crackdown on human trafficking activities in the province.
A special task force from the Ministry of the Interior’s Department of Provincial Administration later held a press conference on its recent crackdown on Karaoke bars along the road from the province’s Khong Chiam to Sirindhorn districts.
Undercover officials found 44 sex workers in seven bars. Many of them are below the age of 18. The women will now be placed under the care and protection of the Office of Social Development.
