UDON THANI, 16 June 2015, Udon Thani Vice Governor Narong Pola-aid has inspected the province’s programs to help local farmers in Wangsammor District find supplementary income during this year’s drought season.
According to district officials, there are eight governmental projects that employ farmers from six sub-districts affected by drought.
These projects include the construction of water reservoirs, flood barriers, wells, freshwater aquaculture, irrigation centers, a farmer’s market, a rice mill, and a learning center.
The eight projects have disbursed 3.2 million baht or 53 percent of their six-million-baht budget, a portion of which is spent to hire the local drought-affected farmers.
