BANGKOK, Thailand – UNICEF Thailand has launched the #CountMeIn campaign to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on children and youth, amplifying their voices in climate discussions. The campaign highlights personal stories from young people affected by climate-induced disasters in Thailand, such as flooding and air pollution, to show how the crisis disrupts lives across the country.

As part of the initiative, photo stories capture children’s experiences in northern and central Thailand, revealing their struggles due to extreme weather. The campaign also features personal accounts from youth in affected areas, illustrating the long-term effects on their communities.

UNICEF has also partnered with the Department of Climate Change and Environment to introduce the “Active Learning on Biodiversity and Climate Change Handbook” in schools, educating children about climate change and encouraging environmental action.

To further elevate their voices, UNICEF will hold a youth consultation in October, with the results to be presented at the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Azerbaijan. (NNT)
