BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department reports that morning temperatures in the upper northern and northeastern regions are expected to drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius, while parts of the eastern Northeast will still experience heavy rainfall.

The 24-hour weather forecast indicates cool morning temperatures across upper northern and northeastern Thailand, with temperatures dipping 1-3 degrees Celsius. Despite the drop, some areas in the eastern Northeast will continue to experience heavy rain. Authorities advise residents to remain vigilant due to potential thunderstorms, heavy rain, and accumulated rainfall, which could lead to flash floods or water overflow, particularly in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes.

This weather change is due to a new high-pressure front or cool air mass from China, which is now covering the upper northern and northeastern regions. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Trami” has moved toward the coast of central Vietnam.

Additionally, westerly and northwesterly winds are sweeping over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, bringing occasional heavy rain to the southern regions. Residents are advised to exercise caution in areas experiencing heavy rainfall. Moderate sea waves are also expected, with wave heights of approximately 2 meters in the lower Andaman Sea and 1-2 meters in the upper Andaman and Gulf of Thailand. Thunderstorm areas could see waves exceed 2 meters, and sailors are advised to exercise caution and avoid navigation in stormy areas.
