BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department of Thailand has announced a drop in temperature by 1-2 degrees Celsius across upper Thailand, accompanied by strong winds. Cool morning weather is expected in the northern and northeastern regions. Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions due to changing weather conditions.

A moderate high-pressure system or cool air mass from China continues to cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea. This system is causing temperatures to drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius in the affected areas, along with gusty winds. Cool mornings are forecasted in the North and Northeast. The Meteorological Department urges people in these regions to maintain their health as the weather transitions.

Meanwhile, the strengthening northeastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and southern regions is bringing thunderstorms to the South. Moderate sea conditions are expected in the Gulf of Thailand, with wave heights of 1-2 meters, and over 2 meters in thunderstorm-prone areas. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in stormy regions.

The strong tropical storm “MAN-YI,” located in the upper South China Sea, is predicted to approach Hainan Island, China, between November 19 and 20, 2024. It is expected to weaken into a tropical depression and eventually a low-pressure system. Travelers planning to visit affected areas are advised to check weather conditions beforehand.

Bangkok and its vicinity will experience partly cloudy skies with strong winds. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 24-26 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 33-34 degrees Celsius. (TNA)
