SURAT THANI, 10 June 2015 – The US charge d’affaires paid a courtesy visit to the Surat Thani Governor to reestablish economic, trade and tourism ties.
Surat Thani Governor Chatpong Chatphut, along with his deputy and related officials, welcomed Honorable Mr. W. Patrick Murphy, US charge d’affaires, during his visit to the Surat Thani city hall.
Discussions included the general outlook of the economy, trade investment, and tourism. The talks centered on high security for foreigners visiting island destinations such as Koh Samui, Koh Pangan, and Koh Tao, as well as various national parks.
The visit aimed to restore tourist confidence and a sense of security for their lives and property.
