UTTARADIT – Farmers in Uttaradit Province are urged to cultivate low water consuming plants during the drought season, while training projects on drought relief are scheduled to begin Monday.
Thong Saen Khan District Agriculture Official Bancha Benjamin has revealed that the district is now working to provide assistance to the drought affected farmers in the area by providing seeds of low water consumption plants for cultivation, as an alternative source of income during the drought season.
Under this campaign, agricultural academics and officials have been dispatched to advise and demonstrate farmers, so that adaptations will be made to their own crops.
Moreover, the province will be launching a training and providing necessary items for production in support of the farmers tomorrow, during a ceremony chaired by the vice governor at the sugar cane farm association, in Uttaradit Province.
