BANGKOK, 21 August 2012 – The Cabinet has announced a list of reshuffled positions within the Ministry of Commerce, in which a new permanent secretary is appointed.
The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday appointed Ms. Vachari Vimooktayon, incumbent Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, as the new Permanent Secretary for Commerce – the first time ever for a female to take up the post.
Ms. Vachari’s promotion came as her predecessor, Mr. Yanyong Phuangrach, is due to retire on September 30 this year.
Many other senior officials in the Ministry of Commerce were also appointed to new positions as follows: Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga as Deputy Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Mrs. Srirat Rastapana as Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Mrs. Pranee Siripan as Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade, Mrs. Piramon Charoenpao as Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations, Mrs. Wiboonluck Ruamrak as Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade and Mr. Noppadol Saravasi as Deputy Permanent Secretary for Commerce.
