Bangkok, 12th August 2019  – Many provinces have conducted volunteer activities in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday on August 12.

At a farmers school in Pua district of Nan province, 120 members of Volunteering Spirit 904 Vor Por Ror, Mobile Development Unit 31 and local villagers helped a farmer by planting rice seedlings in his five rai of land under the We Do Good Deeds With the Heart project, in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday anniversary today.

In Phichit province, Provincial Governor Woraphan Suwannussa visited elderly villagers and gave them consumer goods in Vajira Baramee district under the Elderly Care Chalerm Phra Kiat project on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s birthday.

In Chumphorn province, Provincial Governor Vibul Ratanaphornwong alongside provincial Red Cross officials hosted a lunch and provided counsel for 264 woman inmates at Chumphorn Provincial Prison under the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand’s Chalerm Phra Kiat in 76 Provinces project, in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday on August 12.

Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Naruemon Pinyosinwat said Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has called on volunteers, government personnel and the private sector in all provinces to conduct volunteering spirit activity by excavating waterways and getting rid of obstacles in waterways during the rainy season. Those who may have a workforce, machinery and food may join the activity, as a budget for the procurement of new machinery for excavation of waterways might not be provided in time.

The government has encouraged the people to join in the volunteering spirit activity as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.
