Bangkok – Pertinent information for voters has been announced by authorities in preparation for the general election.
Under the 2017 Constitution, there must be 500 Members of Parliament (MP). A total 350 of the MPs are to be chosen through constituency elections while 150 are to be chosen through the party list system. All will have four year terms.
Voters must choose only one number that represents the candidate they support when exercising their right to participate.
In constituencies where the “No” vote is more prevalent than a preference for any one candidate, a re-election will be triggered. All of the original runners in that constituency will be barred from contesting the re-election.
Those who wish to vote in advance must apply for the right to do so before February 19.
