BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has reported a new wave of cool air descending over upper Thailand, bringing isolated thunderstorms and strong winds, particularly in the northern and western central regions. Following the storms, temperatures are expected to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius, with cooler and windy conditions to follow.
The high-pressure system, originating from China, currently covers the northeastern, eastern, and northern regions, with expectations to extend over the lower central and upper southern regions. The cooler air will bring thunderstorms and gusty winds to select areas initially, followed by a noticeable temperature drop.
Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions and maintain their health amid these changing weather conditions. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the southern region, with waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf reaching up to two meters in stormy areas. Mariners are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in storm-prone areas.
