TRANG, 25 April 2015 – The provincial Election Commission (EC) of Trang held the 2nd workshop to instill knowledge on roles of good citizens, election and democracy, to young delinquents at the provincial Juvenile Observation and Protection Center.
EC President Suraphon Wichaidit said at the opening ceremony of the workshop that as the nation is entering the reform phase, it is now the time for all sides to reevaluate their roles in creating a new society by focusing on fostering new generation of good citizens who respect and comply with the democratic regulations.
He told the teens that a good citizen respects rights of others, obeys the rules of society, and is responsible for oneself and the community.
The EC president said that in order to instill such values to the younger generation, they must understand about the context of being a good citizen, while being prepared for the reformation, the new constitution and the upcoming election.
